Privacy at fragplan
Short version: the question is kept, the location is not, and the measurements are about the use of the site rather than the person in front of it.
Your questions
Every new question is stored: the wording, the timetable fields read out of it, and how often it has been asked. Nothing on that row refers back to you: it carries neither an address nor a session. The random id it gets is the link you can share, and the question stays stored so that link keeps working. Anything that should not stay does not belong in the field.
The language model
To understand it, the wording goes to OpenRouter and from there to Anthropic, both in the United States. Only the wording, nothing else about you. A question already asked is answered from the store and never leaves the server.
Location
"Next connection to Lausanne" means "from here", so the browser asks permission. Without it the answer is still usable, just without a starting point. With it, the coordinates build the link to SBB once and are not stored. They are in no address either, but in the body of the request, so they never reach the access log.
IP address
IP addresses are stored for 30 days, in the access log of the web server in front. The IP address limits how many new questions come from one address, so the costs stay predictable.
Dictation
The microphone uses the browser's speech recognition. fragplan never hears the recording and gets only the finished text. Whether the browser recognises speech on the device or sends the recording to its maker is in the browser's own privacy policy.
On your device
The language and the recent questions are in the browser's localStorage and go nowhere. The "Asked recently" list comes from the device rather than the server, and entries can be removed from it.
Statistics
PostHog measures use, on servers in the EU: pages opened, language, whether a question was understood, and the rough region. The wording of the questions does not go there. So that two pages opened count as one visit, a random id stays in the browser.
Nothing else. What is passed on is described here, and it goes only to the recipients named here.
At SBB
On sbb.ch, SBB's own privacy policy applies. What is handed over reads straight off the address: places, date, time, filters.
Your rights
The controller can be reached at beni@fragplan.ch, which is also where to ask what is stored.
A single question you delete yourself: on delete a question, paste the shared link or its id.
